Tapan tried to tame the ox with a lot of courage and this act was considered as an act of bravery. As ox was menacing the locality, so, to tame such kind of animal, bravery is needed. The same was done by Tapan.

Tapan tamed the ox becasue it was troubling the locality and it had hurt several people and if anyone approached it with a stick , it would charge at them and everyone was terrified of it. At the School-Break Tapan took a rope and at the right moment, jumped on the ox’s back and put the rope in its mouth. He then held himself on the back of the ox and held the rope firmly while the ox stamped and bucked.
