why and how does and earthquake occur

Earth quake is the result of many movements under the Earth's surface. These movements are caused by the seismic waves or primary waves under the ground. Most earthquakes occur due to the activity of Seismic waves. Seismic waves cause very much destruction to mankind compared to primary waves.

It happens when the tectonic plates beneath the Earth's surface begin to move.The tectonic plates are constantly moving so it cannot be found out when a big earthquake is going to happen.Example - Japan ..These are most prone where the countries lie on fault lines..
