When ball is swing in the air, the gravitational force acts on it, so it comes to the surface of the Earth. According to the Newton's third law of motion, for every action, there is an opposite and equal reaction. When ball falls down, it experiences an equal and opposite reaction. Also, while rotating around it's axis, Earth generates centrifugal force. Therefore, a ball swings in the air even after hitting the ground.
