Hii!!

Most plants reduce both photosynthesis and transpiration by closing their stomata during the night.
Only in CAM (Crassulaceae Acid Metabolism) in plants occurs gas exchange during the night because these plants open their stomata during the night

Remastered!!

Because carbon dioxide and water are exchanged through the same holes in plant leaves, a plant cannot absorb carbon dioxide without allowing water vapor to escape. In order to minimize excessive water loss, stomata tend to close at night, when photosynthesis is not occurring and there is less benefit to taking in carbon dioxide

Hey there,

Stomatal pores are closed and opened by gaurd cells. Since the grana cannot process light recation in the absence of sunlight, so no food is produced. When the pores are open, CO₂ comes in and water escapes out.

To minimize this water loss, stomata pores are closed in the night time.
