Water enters continuously through the root xylem by the process of endosmosis.. Due to the process of transpiration the plant exerts a transpiration pull on the roots due to which the water concentration inside the plant becomes less as compared to the soil water... and therefore the water continuously seeps in through the root hairs into the xylem vessels....
