The Jallianwala Bagh massacre, also known as the Amritsar massacre, took place on 13 April 1919. A large peaceful crowd had gathered at the Jallianwala Bagh in Amritsar, Punjab to protest against the arrest of pro-Indian independence leaders Dr. Saifuddin Kitchlew and Dr. Satya Pal. In response to the public gathering, the Anglo-Indian Brigadier R. E. H. Dyer surrounded the Bagh with British Indian army units. The Jallianwala Bagh could only be exited on one side, as its other three sides were enclosed by buildings.

the jallin wala bagh massacre was basically a gathering of thousands of people to discuss problems regarding the Rowlatt act act passed by Britishers. People gathered in area surrounded by walls and there was just one exist which was also the entre gate. The British commander general Dyre ,to compress the upcoming riots. so he closed the main gate and commanded to open fire the gatherers present in jallian wala Bagh. In the open fire many people died, some where injured and also many children where also present because of the fire people jumped into the well which was present in the ground.
The scene and the population which was killed brutally made an uprise of a nationl movement and also was a trigger to protest both violently and non violently all over India's.
