the Panchayat Raj system was first adopted by the state of Rajasthan in Nagaur district on 2 Oct 1959.
The three tier Panchayati Raj system is a system of governance founded and implemented by the Government of India to look after the administration at the Panchayat level.
The three-tiers of this system are:
1. Village Panchayat or Gram Panchayat
2. Block Panchayat or Block Samiti
3. Zila Panchayat or Zila Parishad.
