The poles are the extreme extend of the planet's axis on either side of the equator. They experience six months of day and six months of night because of the tilt of the earth. The earth is tilted in such a way that it takes almost six months for the poles to set away from the sun or face towards it. As a reason some of the places of both Artic circle and Antartic circle experience such condition. Almost between June and December the North pole is tilted towards the sun experience a daylight for almost six months whereas the south pole experience night then. On the other hand the south pole experience day light between December to June, the North pole experiencing night then.
