Indian constitution was enforced from 26th jan 1950 to nurish the spirit of DEMOCRATIC REPUBLIC in INDIA...

The constitution of India was signed and adopted in part on 26th Nov 1949 which is celebrated as law day

but all its provisions were adopted on 26th Jan 1950 in order to honour the pledge of poorna swaraj taken at Lahore Congress on 26th Jan 1930 .This day 26th Jan is celebrated as Republic Day in India.
