phanerogams....basically means ..the plants bearing seeds...

as the angiosperms and gymnosperm contains seeds....so as they called phanerogams....

Phanerogams scientifically used to call seed producing plants.
I think most of the angiosperm and gymnosperm produce seeds.so they are phanerogams.
