Why animal such as cows ,buffaloes have developed appendix but humans do not? Explain.

Animals such as cows and buffaloes have a developed appendix because they eat lot of plant matters. Humans are omnivores and do not eat a lot of plant matter and therefore the appendix in humans is not developed.

EXPLANATION:

In animals, appendix stores bacteria that can help in the digestion of tough plant matter which otherwise may not get digested. Appendix in cows and buffaloes helps in making digestion easier.

In fact, appendix in humans is considered as an organ which does not have any apparent useful function.
