Why anods are change time to time in the electrolysis of alumina

Anodes needs to be replacedduring the electrolysis of the Alumina because they gets oxidized. During theElectrolysis of the Alumina, Oxygen is deposited at the anode. ... As a resultof this Oxidation, we needs to replace the anode from time to time.
