Antacids are basic in nature so they are taken by us when , due to excess ogmf hydrochloric acid production in our stomach. This condition is called ingestion. This causes pain and irritation in our stomach. Hence , to nuetralise the acidic effect inside inside our stomach we take antacid ( milk of magnesia) which is a base.
