viruses are so simple as they use their host cells to perform their actvities.so antivirals are different from antibiotics in performance.

Because they contain antibiotic metabolism, which kills only the bacteria which affect the body, but Viral diseases uses a host to get in our body ,in which we could not find the metabolism to kill the virus. They have an entirely different biological pathway.
