Antibiotics cannot kill viruses because bacteria and viruses have different mechanisms and machinery to survive and replicate. The antibiotic has no “target” to attack in a virus. However, antiviral medications and vaccines are specific for viruses

1. Antibiotic blocks the biochemical pathways which is important for bacteria example :- penicillin
2.Many bacteria make cell wall to protect themselve
3. The antibiotic penicillin blocks the blocks the bacterial process that build cell wall
4. As a result, the growing bacteria become unable to make cell wall and die easily
5. therefore antibiotic works against the bacteria and not against viruses
