Why antibiotics doesn't work in the case of viruses but work in the case of bacteria why??

antibiotics don't work against viruses because the viruses have different mechanism of living and reproduction also antibiotics are not ready to attack viruses as they don't have the capacity to work against it
but it is effective against bacteria as it is a medicine to treat the bacterial diseases.
