Antiseptic has low surface tension value to ease it's spreading over the wound.

1. Antiseptic is compound or preparation, chemical in nature.

2. It is used to prevent the growth of disease causing micro organisms.

3. Examples of antiseptic are - iodine, hydrogen peroxide, boric acid etc.

4. Surface tension is defined as the force by the molecules of liquid beneath the surface which attract upper surface molecules.

5. This is done to decrease the surface area.

6. Thus, lowering the surface tension increases application area of antiseptic.
