Jammu and Kashmir is generally excluded from the applicability of almost every Indian law. Laws such as the Indian Penal Code, Civil Procedure Code, Indian Contract Act, etc. are not applicable in Jammu and Kashmir. No law will be followed by them unless it pertains to Defense, Foreign affairs or Telecommunication.
