Question:-

Why the value any real number (except zero) raised to the power 0 is 1 ? Take

 {a}^{0}  = 1

Solution:-

We know that

 {a}^{0}  = 1

Proof:-

 {a}^{0}

can be written as  \frac{ {a}^{x} }{ {a}^{x} }

Since,

 \frac{ {a}^{m} }{ {a}^{n} }  =  {a}^{m - n} and  \frac{ {a}^{x} }{ {a}^{x} }  =  {a}^{x - x}  =  {a}^{0} . \: . \: . \: . \: . \: .(1)

We have,

 \frac{ {a}^{x} }{ {a}^{x} }  = 1

So, From (1) the value of

 {a}^{0}  = 1

Hence, proved
