The appendix is not considered to be entirely vestigial. However, its original functions may no longer be needed. It has been found to have an important function in the immune system. But someone who has their appendix removed is not at any particular risk.

appendixis a vestigial organ as it doesnot has any function to perform in our body . it is apart of digestive system but doesnot performs any function in it

jazzcullen: The appendix has a function.... It digests cellulose but since this function is no longer needed in man due to evolution the appendix is considered to be a vestigial organ.
