why aqua regia is acidic in nature?

Aqua Regia is made up of acids usually string acids like HNO3 and HCl. In the ratio of 1:3 respectively. This they have properties of acids.

Aqua Regia (Latin name for 'Royal water') is a freshly prepared mixture of concentrated Hydrochloric acid and concentrated Nitric acid in the ratio of 3:1.

It can dissolve Gold even though neither of these acids do so alone. It is a highly corrosive, fuming liquid. It is one of the few reagents that is available to dissolve gold and platinum.
