While height are largely genetically based, external factors such as food do affect body growth. To answer this question, one needs to control the variable of food and compare results.
One fact is that from my personal observation, Asians in North America do tend to be taller than their Asia-living counterparts. But this does not testify to the fact that different kinds of food do matter since NA tend to be wealthier than Asian countries so food are in better supply. What it does prove however, is that the adequacy of food supply plays an important role in height.
Also, Asian food tend to less protein based, compared to western food, so it might have a negative effect on height growth.
