Aluminium foil have properties that help in keeping food packed inside it fresh for a long time as it acts as a barrier against light and oxygen, odours and flavours and moistness and germs, thus avoiding food decay. This also helps in stopping the fats in the food oxidising or turning rancid.

Answer:

Aluminium foils do not corrode in atmosphere even if kept for a long time. Actually, a protective coating of aluminium oxide is formed on the surface of the foil. It stops any further reaction of the metal with air or Oxygen and water. The food articles do not get spoiled.
