As they cannot prepare their own food by the process of photosynthesis and they are dependant on green plants . So they are known as heterotrophs

Heterotrophs are the one that has no tendency to make their own food and are dependent on the autotrophs plants and animals flesh.

Similar to humans and fungi, they eat the plants and animals to satisfy their requirement for nutrients.

They have no tendency to make their own food with sunlight or chlorophyll.
