Why are antibiotics effective on bactrial infections but not on viral infections​

antibiotics are meant for only bacterial infections but not for viral infections because the mechanisms of vitus are bacteria are very different from each other.

as antibiotics are made only to work on bacterias that's why they are not effective on viral infections.

⇒ Many Bacteria make cell wall to protect themselves.

⇒ The antibiotic penicillin blocks the bacterial processes that build the cell wall.

⇒ As a result, The growing bacteria are unable to make cell wall and die easily.

⇒ But viruses do not use this path ways therefore antibiotic do not work against viral infection.
