why are antibiotics not effective for viral disease

Antibiotics work by destructing the biochemical pathways in bacteria whereas virus do not use biochemical pathways.

Antibiotics are made of micro organisms
and mainly kill microorganism or certain bacteria they can however are not capable to kill virus and viral diseases are caused due to virus.
