After years of efforts to alleviate poverty in India still as a country we have not seen any perceptible improvement so far . Govt in tandem has announced many schemes to address the issue , But largely because of the lacunae in its implementation , efforts failed to cut no ice .
Instead of top down approach of its implementation Govt should focus on bottom up approach to reduce the poverty.Universal basic income is one such innovative idea if implemented religiously can improve the plight of the people who are languishing at the bottom of the pyramid. If we can provide basic income to most deserved people can bring some semblance of option to address their basic needs like health care, nutritious food and education . It also enables them to scale up and go up the value chain by empowering them by taking tasks and skills which they are known for.Bureaucratic maze should be reduced their by increasing the efficiency in the system.Government should think of phasing out subsidies and all the resources should be given to focus rendering basic income to their hands.Involve the vulnerable and poor section of the population to decision making at local levels and empower them to coordinate the activities on the ground.encourage private participation more Govt should act as facilitator in promoting social business models .Reduce the incidence of rhetoric and vote bank politics by political parties and All political parties, corporate and NGO’s should play a very proactive role in bringing maximum social impact and handhold them to come out of from poverty

1) One of the major reason for less effectiveness is the lack of proper implementation and right targeting.
2) There has been a lot of overlapping of schemes.
3) Despite good intentions, the benefits of these schemes are not fully reached to deserving people.
