the argon is used in bulb because it prevent the evaporation of tungsten filament and the light bulb life. it prevent the oxygen to corrode the filament .

The glass chamber of the bulb can’t be filled with air as the presence of oxygen will cause the filament to burn, i.e. it will react with oxygen.
The glass chamber can’t be made vacuum. As in vacuum condition, the filament will evaporate because of very high temperature, making the bulb unusable.
Hence, it is filled with inert gases like Argon and Nitrogen so that the bulb will maintain a particular pressure, preventing the filament from evaporating.
Argon gas is used in light bulbs to stop the oxygen in the light bulbs from corroding the hot tungsten filament.
The use of argon in light bulbs prevents the evaporation of the tungsten filaments, which results in increased light bulb life.
