Hey! dud here is ur ans...

These soils are non-productive because they contain high percentage of soluble salts,are alkaline with varying degree of calcium carbonate and are poor in organic matter.

Answer:

*Due to the dry climate, high temperature, evaporation is faster and the soil lacks humus and moisture.

* Also the lower horizons of the soil are occupied by kankar, which restricts the infiltration of water.
