why are arteries deep seated while veins are superficial

Arteries are deep seated because in arteries the blood exerts pressure on walls of arteries is high compare to veins and if suppose , a artery has been cut then the flow blood will be continuos and it will not stop but blood moves in our veins because of our movements of body parts.
