arteries receives blood from left atrium forcefully and the pump it to each and every organ of body...it need much capacity to do its work. so it has thick walls
and veins are used to receive blood first from lungs and then send blood from body parts to lungs..it does not need sk much energy to carry blood therefore it has thin walls

Veins collect blood from different organs and bring it back to heart❤. They don't need thick walls because the blood is no longer under pressure. They have valves that ensure that the blood flows only in one direction.
