★ Most bells are made of metal because of the resonance of the metal bell, combined with a metal clapper. The is sound is more profound and carries further than a similar bell made of wood. Most wood have a cellular structure that lends itself to damping the sound, not enhancing it.
And also according to the physical properties metals..
They are highly sonorous i.e they produce a good ringing sound if striked but woods are not sonorous and can't produce that much of sound.
