why are boats and aeroplane given a special shape?

: The special shape is given to the boats and aeroplanes because, Boats and aeroplanes are the bodies moving in the fluids like ship in water and aeroplanes in the air to reduce the fluid friction, called as 'Streamlined Shape'. This friction cause the aeroplane down and causes it to consume more fuel.
