because it posses both the characteristics of plants and animals,i.e they can survive both on land and water. they need water to complete their life cycle.

bryophytes are commonly called as the amphibian of the plant kingdom as it needs water to complete its life cycle. and as it can survive both on land and water(moist places like damp walls, tree trunks, rocks.) Hope this helps u ....... good luck!!!!!!!!!
