why are buckets made out of plastics these days

Easy to carry
Easy to transport
Low in cost
Easy to manufacture

Plastic buckets are better because they are less unbreakable and if they break they are not much costly.....plastic buckets to not break as early compared with stainless steel and metal buckets. So that now a days buckets made out of plastics.
