out of the numerous beautiful stupas in the whole of India some stupas of Buddhism have gain recognition as the stories of stone..
since..
#they depict various symbols of Buddhism
#like lotus .. peepal tree etc.
#they have scenes engraved on stone of life from the lives of various Bodhisattvvas
#scenes from Buddha's teachings are there engraved and written
#teachings of Buddha and Ashoka and stories about their childhood..are there on stone..
this makes them stories on stone..
