Why are bulbs filled with chemical inactive nitrogen or argon gas?

it's because the bulb to glow and prevent oxygen or air to go inside..

this is because they are non reactive gasses and do not react to heat from the filament in the bulb. Other gasses may catch fire and explode the bulb.
