Explanation:

This will be a very short and simple answer. Bullets rupture organs, blood vessels, and rupture arteries. If you don’t bleed to death the bones the bullet broke and the tendons/muscle that it tore will make it incredibly painful to move the inflicted area. So if you get shot in the leg you most likely won’t be able to walk on that leg. If your far away form civilization that means you could die of thirst, hunger or infection. Also larger bullets with more mass that hit you can rupture and break all sorts of things just from the initial impact and thats not including the effects from the hole it leaves I mentioned above.
