why are cells of epidermis of leaves thin and transparent?
please provide a class 10 answer

Epidermis gas thick cuticle layer over it which is transparent .It is transparent so that the light is reach the inner portion of leave . If is was not transparent, less light could reach to chrolophyll hence it reduce the amount of food processing during photosynthesis

This is a single layer of cells containing few or no chloroplasts. The cells are quite transferent & permit most of the light that strikes them to pass through to the underlying cells. the upper surface is covered with a waxy, water proof cuticle, which serves to reduce water loss from the leaf..
