Monoecious and dioecious plants
Explanation:
- In several fungi and plants, terms such as homothallic and monoecious are used to denote the bisexual condition (male and female reproductive structures in the same plant) and heterothallic and dioecious are the terms used to describe the unisexual condition (male and female reproductive structures on different plants). But in animals, individuals are either male or female (unisexual) or possess both the reproductive organs (bisexual).
- Chara “monoecious ” : Chara is a monoecious organism as both male and female reproductive structures are in the same organisms.
- Marchantia ”dioecious” : Marchantia is dioecious as both male and female reproductive structures are in different individuals.
