Children and old age (above 60 years) are not considered for computation of workforce because :-

1) Children belongs to the age group of 6-15years, and the old age group ranges above 60 years.

2) Individual of these age groups are not physically fit for any kind of laborious work.

3) Workforce is computed by the number of actively employed workers by the sum of population of working age group.

4) Children and old age people are not only physically unfit but also mentally incapable of delivering perfect work.
