- The people should be free to know, discuss,and express independent opinion to make the democracy successful.
- If these civil rights are restricted by the rulers democracy cannot function freely.
- In the case of Libya, the elected democratic bodies never had any such rights. they had to follow what the RCC had the insisting them to do.
- The public or the common people never had any such rights to criticize the government or to express the views and opinions on the functioning of government.
- The press and media also had the restricted rights. the violators were met with arrest severe torture and death.
