Why are cocoons not used after the moth comes out of it

This is for two reasons: The emerging moth bites the silk on its way out of the cocoon. During the process, the continuous silk thread is broken and becomes uneconomical to reel it or use it. All the bodily wastes produced during the pupal stage are stored in the pupa.
