why are coils of electric toasters and electric irons made of an alloy rather than a pure metal?​

This is because of two reasons

a) Alloys have high resistivity than pure metals

b) Alloys does not oxidize even at high temperature....

coils of electric toasters and irons are made of an alloy rather than a pure metal because alloy do not corrode easily.At high temperature alloy do not melt easily.the resistivity of alloy is greater than pure metal
