The compounds are different from single elements because when elements form a compound, the bonds and structure of the elements change.

Answer: Option A

Explanation:

Elements are nothing but chemical substance which is composed of only one atom. For example Iron is an element. On other hand compound refers to the substance which has “two or more elements” combine together.

For example: Sodium Chloride is a compound consists of two elements namely sodium and chloride. When elements sodium and chloride combines with each other it leads to change in their structure and also the number of bonds involved in bonding also differs.
