Why are conductors of electric heating devices such as toasters or electric iron is made of an alloy rather than pure metal​

Purpose of heating devices is to generate high temperatures for cooking or warming applications.  It is obvious that we would like to use such a material that can withstand high temperature without getting deformed. There are lots of heating devices i.e. electric heater, electric blower, toaster, immersible rod. Alloy is used in all of them. It has been found that alloys have higher melting point due to high resistance. Hence alloy is used in heating devices.
