Why are control components necessary in traditional software and generally not required in object-oriented software?

Not sure, what do you mean by the control components, but every which way I can think about it, the control components are just as necessary in the object-oriented software. All the Object-Oriented Programming does is creating a more clear cut-off between the interface and implementation, and encouraging to extract and reuse the commonality instead of reimplementing it many times.
