This is because alunium being a metal is a ductile and malleable and can be cast into any shape and brass is a alloy of aluminium thus it also have the same properties........

Aluminium and brass have the property to not corrode from the atmospheric effect whereas pure metal like iron is easily corroded by the atmospheric change
as it is a alloy (alluminimand brass) thats why it is used as cooking utensils
