why are cooking utensils made of metal whereas their handle made of bakelite?​

Handles of kitchen utensils are made of bakelite because bakelite is bad conductor of heat, which doesn't let the heat pass through it.So while cooking whenever we will hold the hot utensil, it will not burn our hand.
