Copper and aluminium wires are generally used for electricity transmission as they have low resistivity. Low resistivity decreases the resistance and hence increases the amount of current in the circuit. Therefore, they are good conductors of electricity.

Copper and aluminium wires are usually employed for electricity for electricity transmission because
-------------------------------------------------------------------
1)they are available abundantly on earth
2)they are very good conductors of electricity
3)they offer very low resistance to the flow of current hence current wont be wasted in large amount
4)chances of theft is less
